Baby Basics Program acquires new and gently used baby items, such as baby bath tubs, onesies, infant sleepers, diapers, formula, etc., and delivers them to the new mother before she leaves the Stamford or Norwalk Hospital.
SITE HOURS: M,T,W,F: 9am-4pm; Th: 9am-6pm (closed Th evenings in July and August); Sat: 9am-12noon (closed Sat. in August)
ELIGIBILITY: New mothers who are referred by hospital social workers in Norwalk and Stamford
FEE: No fee
APPLICATION: Must have referral from a Norwalk and Stamford hospital social worker
AGENCY DESCRIPTION: Community services agency offers limited financial assistance for rent, rental deposit assistance, child care, medical needs and utilities, and provides emergency food, clothing, furniture and small household items. Person-to-Person offers special Christmas programs: Dove program, Toy Store and Be A Santa. Camperships and post high school scholarships are also offered to eligible students.
The Giving Closet provides free children's clothes for families in need with children ages birth to 5 years old.
